Motion graphics for Barcelona's Vintage Market
For the Barcelona Vintage Market, I created a motion graphics piece that highlights the connection between design and the city. The animation's main feature is a seamless morphing effect that transforms a still life of furniture into Barcelona’s iconic skyline, symbolizing the dialogue between interior design and urban architecture.
The chosen style is illustrative with textured details, giving the piece a handcrafted and unique feel. The vibrant color palette adds energy and freshness, while the featured furniture pays homage to iconic designs from the 20th and 21st centuries, emphasizing their importance in contemporary design culture.
The project was crafted using Adobe After Effects and Illustrator, combining their strengths to deliver a visually striking and technically polished result.
This project blends creativity and technique to capture the essence of the Barcelona Vintage Market, celebrating design as a vital part of our everyday lives and cultural identity.
Style frames creation for animation
The animation process began with the development of the main style frames to establish the overall visual direction and narrative. These key frames were designed to define the composition, color palette, and illustrative style.
- Top Frames: Set the tone of the animation with textured skies, bold typography, and visual elements like vehicles and symbols to introduce the market.
- Bottom Left Frame: Represents the furniture still life, featuring iconic 20th and 21st-century designs with vibrant, textured illustrations.
- Bottom Right Frame: Transition towards the narrative’s conclusion, incorporating a connection between design and artistry against a warm, urban backdrop.
Once the style frames were finalized, they served as the foundation for the animation, ensuring a cohesive and visually striking result. The morphing transitions and motion were then developed in Adobe After Effects, combining these illustrations into a fluid and engaging storytelling piece.
