Posters for Iberdrola at the 2023 Women's World Cup

Graphic design has the power to capture the emotion and spirit of an event as significant as the Women's World Cup. This time, I had the honor of collaborating with Iberdrola to create three posters for the 2023 Women's World Cup held in Australia and New Zealand. Inspired by the unique style of Strong Stuff, these posters aim to celebrate the passion, effort, and achievements of our female footballers. Below, I present each of the designs and the references I used to create this special collection.

World Champions Poster Design

World Champions

The "World Champions" poster is a tribute to Maori culture and the spectacular football we witnessed during the World Cup. Inspired by the style of Strong Stuff, known for its bold and vibrant designs, I wanted to capture the essence of victory and celebration. In the sky, fifteen stars represent the fifteen players who couldn't participate in this World Cup due to their fight for what they believed was right. Additionally, the design includes nods to Maori mythology, adding cultural depth to the artwork.

They Play, We All Win Design Poster

They Play, We All Win

The second design, "They Play, We All Win," is inspired by the colors of Australia. Utilizing Strong Stuff's characteristic technique, the poster is filled with energy and movement, celebrating the inclusivity and universal appeal of women's football. The vibrant colors and dynamic shapes highlight the idea that when they play, we all win, emphasizing the joy and unity that sports bring to society.

Alexia Putellas Design Poster

Alexia Putellas

The third poster features Alexia Putellas, one of the brightest stars in women's football. This design focuses on Alexia, with two figures in her shadow representing her sister and mother, symbolizing the crucial support of family in a footballer's career. Inspired by Strong Stuff's style, the poster captures Alexia's determination and the emotional backing provided by her family.
